Gondola.

1. MTH Standard Gauge Gondola with Merchandise Containers

The gondola features classic midnight blue body with nickel plates and trim (prototype photo shows no plates) with three different merchandise containers. Painted in gold, silver and copper and named after three major mines in Arizona. The Vulture Gold Mine near Wickenburg financed the City of Phoenix. The Tough Nut Silver Mine is under Tombstone, “The Town too Tough to Die”. The Copper Queen Mine produced copper for a new invention….electricity. The containers have operating doors and hook eyes on the top. One set of chains is included.

Salsa.2. MTH O-27 Smoking Salsa Tank Car

How Hot is the Salsa?....Caliente! It’s so hot the car smokes! The car is painted salsa red with bright graphics. The New Mexico Central Car celebrates the Rio Grande Chapter of the Desert Division. The primary freight of the New Mexico Central RR was chili peppers, coal and produce. Thanks to MTH Trains, the TCA is able to present the first ever SMOKING tank car! That’s Muy Caliente!

O reefer.3. Lionel O Scale Grand Canyon Refrigerator Car 50th anniversary set add-on car

The Santa Fe refrigerator car built for Fred Harvey service was originally built in the 1920’s as a wooden car and rebuilt in 1936 and again in 1947 as a steel side car. This highly detailed O scale version of the 1947 car is the Desert Division’s addition to the TCA 50th Anniversary Set. Imagine seeing this car on the siding behind the El Tovar Hotel at the Grand Canyon, while visitors dined at the Harvey House overlooking one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World!
