Duplicate Books for Sale

Iron Horse book. These are used books, handbooks, and other duplicate items that can be invaluable for research and just to have in your home toy train library. Conditions may vary, but they're all readable and usable for research.

The status of items on this list can change frequently as items are sold, and does not represent everything for sale in the library.   Also, back issues of Train Collectors Quarterly are available to purchase through the library.  Please contact the library if you have any questions.

All proceeds from this sale go toward developing the Library's collection. Please read the instructions below before ordering, and contact Librarian Lori Nyce (717) 687-8623 ext. 108, fax (717) 687-0742 with any questions.

General Instructions:

Please call ahead to check availability of the items before visiting library or placing an order. In order to reduce paperwork and postage costs, items must be reserved by phone. Please have the titles and item numbers ready when you call to place your order.

You may FAX your order or questions to the Library to the attention of Lori Nyce. Your order will be checked and a confirmation FAX detailing the cost will be returned to you. Sorry, but inquiries and orders placed by mail may not be answered.   Acceptable forms of payment include credit cards or check.

Large orders by non-members should expect a short delay in mailing as we check your credit card or personal check. We will reserve items in your name for two weeks until your check arrives, but again, all items should be reserved by phone to assure their availability.

Postage and handling:

  • Postage and handling costs will be determined at the time of order and will be based on current shipping rates.
  • Items are sent USPS or by UPS, depending on the number of items ordered, the value of the items, and/or their physical size.
  • All foreign orders (including Canada and Mexico) should expect higher postage costs.
  • Overseas patrons, please indicate whether you prefer air mail or surface mail.

How to Place Orders:

Orders may be placed on weekdays, by calling 717-687-8623 ext. 108. You may also send a FAX to 717-687-0742 and the library will confirm your order and send you a reply fax detailing the total cost.

Returns and Refunds:

While we cannot offer refunds for purchases from the Duplicate Book Sale list, we would be glad to offer an exchange for credit towards the purchase of another book, should you be dissatisfied with your purchase. Simply give us a call and we can make arrangements to have your book returned to us and credit issued towards another purchase.
