These are books and magazines, many used, that can be invaluable for research and just to have in your home toy train library. They're all readable and usable.
All proceeds from this sale go toward developing the Library's collection. Please read the instructions below before ordering, and contact Librarian Jan Athey (717) 687-8976, fax (717) 687-0742 with any questions.
Abbreviations in the attached list are as follows:
HB = Hardbound PB = Paperbound
SB = Softbound DJ = Dust Jacket
Condition of book: (not always indicated)
M — Mint = new
E — Excellent = like new
VG — Very Good = a small amount of wear
G — Good = some wear, some pages or cover may be folded
F — Fair = wear, foxing, pages may be folded or torn
P — Poor = well worn book, foxing, pages/cover damaged or missing, spine may be loose
Please note: These are general guides to the conditions of the books. We cannot extensively evaluate a book, and individual book condition varies. All our books are readable and usable for research.
General Instructions:
Please call ahead to check availability of books before visiting library or placing an order. In order to reduce paperwork and postage costs, books must be reserved by phone (Tuesdays and Fridays only). Please have the date of the list you are using and the item number of the book(s) you wish to order ready when you call.
You may FAX your order or questions to the Library (to the attention of Jan Athey). Your order will be checked and a confirmation FAX detailing the cost will be returned to you. Sorry, but inquiries and orders placed by mail may not be answered. Books may be paid for by credit card (Visa or Master Card) or by check.
Large orders by non-members should expect a short delay in mailing as we check your credit card or personal check. We will reserve books in your name for two weeks until your check arrives, but again, all books should be reserved by phone to assure their availability. Magazine orders will not be processed without a credit card number or pre-payment.
Postage and handling:
- Please include $4.00 for the first book and $1.50 for each additional book.
- For magazines include $1.75 for the first, and $0.50 for each additional.
- All foreign orders (including Canada and Mexico) should expect higher postage costs.
- Overseas patrons, please indicate whether you prefer air mail or surface mail. Books are sent USPS or by UPS, depending on the number of books ordered, the value of the books, and/or their physical size.
- Pennsylvania residents must pay the 6% sales tax.
How to Place Orders:
Orders may be placed on Tuesdays or Fridays, by calling 717-687-8976 and asking for Jan Athey. You may also send a FAX to 717-687-8976 and the library will confirm your order and send you a reply fax detailing the total cost. Magazine orders will not be processed without a credit card number or pre-payment.
Returns and Refunds:
While we cannot offer refunds for purchases from the Duplicate Book Sale list, we would be glad to offer an exchange for credit towards the purchase of another book, should you be dissatisfied with your purchase. Simply give us a call and we can make arrangements to have your book returned to us and credit issued towards another purchase.
